Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Amarjeevi Jaladhara drinking water scheme at Peravali in East Godavari’s Nidadavolu mandal, paid tribute to the memories of Burgula Ramakrishna Rao and Potti Sriramulu, stating they would remain in his heart.
He announced a massive water grid project, costing Rs 7,910 crore, spanning five districts. This initiative is designed to supply drinking water to 1.2 crore people and link more coastal regions and is targeted for completion by 2027.
Responding sharply to YSRC leaders’ criticisms alleging project delays, Pawan Kalyan lashed out. He asserted that he was never intimidated by threats, even when YSRC was in power, and accused the party’s leaders of resorting to violence while prematurely claiming a return to power.
Kalyan then issued a stern warning against disruptive elements. He suggested that investigating the background of “hired goons and rowdies” for just two days would expose the truth. He warned that a firm political decision would deter such elements from making similar statements again.
He cautioned his accusers, noting that he had not yet escalated the situation to a political decision. Asserting his unyielding nature, he declared, “Whether in power or not, Pawan will always remain Pawan.” Furthermore, he remarked that YSRC “rowdies” warranted the kind of strict handling exemplified by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
