The Indian leg-spinner took to his IG stories and shared a screenshot of the news snippet detailing the Delhi High Court ruling on alimony. Though he removed the story immediately, it was already shared on multiple platforms.
The headline of the news mentioned, ‘Financially independent wives cannot demand alimony from their husbands.’ Not only did Yuzvendra share the news headline, but he also penned a cryptic and provocative caption to it, which can be read as:
“Maa Kasam Khao Nahi Paltoge iss Decision Se.”

Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal, married choreographer and influencer, Dhanashree Verma, in December 2020. However, soon after their marriage, problems started creeping up, and rumour mills had it that the couple was heading for a divorce. The duo soon began their divorce proceedings, which were finalised in March 2025.
Various reports also stated that a substantial settlement figure, around Rs 4 crore, was given to Dhanashree by Yuzvendra. But neither Chahal nor Dhanashree ever confirmed the exact amount. But it was certain that a certain amount was used as a payout.

Dhanashree talked about Yuzvendra’s t-shirt drama on the day of their divorce
On the day of their divorce getting finalised, Yuzi grabbed attention with his bold t-shirt that read, ‘Be your own sugar daddy.’ In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Dhanashree Verma spoke about her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal and the drama surrounding it. Dhanashree shared that she knew people would blame her even before the t-shirt stunt occurred. She was left in shock, having not expected him to pull off such a stunt.
In the same interaction, Dhanashree emphasised that instead of making another headline, she chose not to make an immature statement that can appeal to the public. Dhanashree expressed her thoughts on Yuzi’s T-shirt drama and said:
“Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai? Fir toh ek t-shirt bhi kafi nahi.”
