For those unaware, the first two episodes of the all-new Scrubs Season 10 premiered on February 25, 2026 and just a day ago, episode 3 aired on March 13, 2026. While Zach is in the spotlight after the release of Scrubs Season 10, he has got fans talking for another rather bizarre reason – the rumour that he is dating an AI chatbot. Well, now the actor has stepped in to clarify the rumour himself.

It has been a while since fans began speculating that Scrubs actor, Zach Braff is in a relationship with an AI chatbot. Yes, you read that right! The rumour has spread like wildfire all across social media, so much so that Zach himself has to step in to deny them all. For the unversed, the speculations started after a three-month-old podcast clip went viral. When the gossip account, Deuxmoi, reposted it on Instagram to its 2.2 million followers, many started suggesting that the clip was talking about Zach having an AI girlfriend.
Well, to deny the speculations, Zach took to his Instagram Stories and wrote, “I am not dating a chatbot. I can’t believe I have to type these words.” He did not stop there; he also gave fans a possible explanation, claiming it is actually a storyline from an upcoming episode of Scrubs and has nothing to do with him in real life. Even in the face of such an absurd situation, Zach ended his Story with a hint of humour, signing off, “Love, the guy not dating history chatbot. Please update all the gossip sites.”
After realising that the origin of the rumour was from the podcast, I Need You Guys, Zach shared screenshots featuring Jenny Slate and Kumail Nanjiani from the particular episode and said that he “has no idea until tonight (because I’m not on TikTok) that these folks were the origin of this?” Zach went on to remind fans and commentators one final time, saying he feels like “now is a good time to be kind to people.”

It all began during a December 2025 episode of the podcast, I Need You Guys. Alongside hosts, Jenny Slate, Gabe Liedman, and Max Silvestri, guest, Kumail Nanjiani also featured on the episode. During the episode, Silvestri shared that there was a rumour doing the rounds in Hollywood where a “well-known actor” is allegedly dating an AI chatbot. Not naming the actor, he even claimed that the star brought the chatbox along with him to various events. Apparently, whoever the actor was knew how bizarre the situation sounded, but he didn’t really care.

When the group tried to guess the mystery actor, Silvestri gave them a clue, saying it was a TV star who was “as near A-list as TV can get you.” Instead of revealing the actor’s name aloud on the podcast, Max Silvestri texted it to the group. Kumail Nanjiani could not hold back his laughter after reading the name and said, “Perfect, perfect, perfect. It’s so funny, but it’s so good.” Soon, listeners started making their own guesses about who the mystery actor could be.
