Zoe Saldana’s 2026 Oscars skincare prep included using a face-sculpting microcurrent device loved by Margot Robbie that shoppers say needs only ‘6 minutes to get snatched’

The Oscars is one of the most prominent red carpet events in the world, which means stars require some serious beauty prep before their appearance. Before stepping onto the 2026 Academy Awards’ red carpet, Zoe Saldana made sure her face looked as sculpted and contoured as possible with one handy little skincare tool.

Her makeup artist Vera Steimberg shared a behind the scenes look at Zoe’s Oscars glam routine, and it included the ZIIP HALO 2.0 All In One Microcurrent Facial Device. Over on Instagram, Vera showed how she used the device’s app to create a contouring routine to help tighten and lift the 47 year old actress’ skin before applying her skincare.

Vera credited the device with helping create Zoe’s radiant, flawless complexion too, writing: “Glow courtesy of Ziip” on her Instagram post about the night’s look. The microcurrent device, however, was the star of the beauty preparations, and it’s not hard to see why.

The ZIIP HALO 2.0 is a firm favourite of countless stars, including Margot Robbie, Jennifer Aniston and Gillian Anderson, who all love it for the noticeable difference it makes to skin. Using electrical microcurrents, the device helps with everything from lifting and tightening to brightness, making it a great all-rounder to have in your beauty routine.

You can use the app to create personalised treatments, which sends directed unique electrical currents to your ZIIP HALO 2.0 and lets you follow along with the guided directions to get an expert-style facial at home. All of the treatments have been designed by electrical esthetician and founder Melanie Simon to make sure you’re getting clinic-grade results without having to leave the house.

When you buy the ZIIP HALO 2.0 you’ll also get three of the best-selling conductive gels included too, which not only help the device reach your skin’s deeper layers, but also contain powerful active ingredients. You can pick up the device for £379.99 directly from ZIIP’s website.

However, if this is a little out of your budget, there are some more affordable microcurrent devices on the market, including the NuFACE Mini+ Starter Kit which you can pick up for £244. The starter kit is a five-piece skincare set that includes a bestselling mini microcurrent device, a priming gel and a brightening cream, giving you everything you need to get the most out of the device.

Alternatively, you could pick up Geske’s 6-in1 MicroCurrent Face Lifter for just £49.95. It combines microcurrents with anti-ageing massage and SmartSonic pulsation technologies which help with a better blood circulation, clean out the toxins and ease facial tension.

Another great multi-use device is Silk’n’s LED EMS Face Mask which is £299.99. Not only does this offer everything an LED face mask does, including six different types of light, but it also contains EMS electrodes to sculpt, lift and tighten your skin as you wear it.

However, the ZIIP HALO 2.0 hasn’t just gotten the A-lister seal of approval. It’s also been a big hit with beauty fans, who’ve praised it for how effective it is.

One said: “I have never gotten this type of chisel from gua sha. My skin is smoother and feels more lifted. The treatments are quick and effective , I do the instant facelift one and it’s 6 minutes to get snatched. I also love the one for the lips, I do 2-3 treatments in a row max. I do the one for every other day as recommended. It’s calming and easy to follow along. Pro tip – I apply the gel to the globes then I dot around the treatment area so I don’t get super sticky.”

Another praised: “As a 60 year old ex beauty therapist, I’m pretty sceptical when looking at what many devices claim they are able to do, but this ticked every ‘realistic’ box and it’s been a game changer in my facial routine. I use it 5 times a week, and in 6 weeks even my husband said my skin was looking so different. The skin around my eyes in firmer and my jowls are definitely lifted. It’s small, easy to use and actually very relaxing so I do it at the end of the day watching television. If you want firmer skin, you’ll make a great decision using this.”

One did mention, however: “I’m definitely noticing an improvement in skin tone. It’s done nothing for lifting yet. I also don’t like that you have to use the app for every single program and that the app has to be connected to the Internet for it to work. You can’t download the programs which proved difficult on my recent cruise.”

Another said: “I’ve been trying to use my ZIIP HALO at least 3 times a week for the past couple of weeks. I have not seen any benefits yet. I’m still hoping to see a change as I continue using it.”

However, others loved it, with one simply stating: “The improvement in my skin is remarkable.”
