وأوضح رئيس وزراء ولاية آسام هيمانتا بيسوا سارما، أن عدد الوفيات ارتفع إلى 41 شخصًا، مؤكدًا أن جميع الجهات، تعمل على مدار الساعة في عمليات الإغاثة والإنقاذ بالولاية.
وأشار إلى أن السلطات أقامت نحو (150) مخيمًا للإغاثة، لجأ إليها نحو (30) ألف شخص في الولاية، وأن (900) ألف شخص في أكثر من (1800) قرية تضرروا جراء الفيضانات.
