وقالت بيربوك -في بيان- “إن ميثاق الأمم المتحدة واضح حيث ينص على أنه يجب على جميع الدول الأعضاء تسوية نزاعاتها الدولية بالوسائل السلمية، بما لا يعرض السلم، والأمن الدوليين، والعدالة للخطر، كما يجب عليها الامتناع في علاقاتها الدولية عن التهديد باستخدام القوة أو استخدامها ضد السلامة الإقليمية أو الاستقلال السياسي لأي دولة، أو بأي طريقة أخرى تتعارض مع مقاصد الأمم المتحدة.
ودعت رئيسة الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة إلى خفض التصعيد في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، وعدم جر الدول المجاورة إلى هذا الصراع، والعودة إلى الدبلوماسية والمفاوضات.
