وكتب رئيس البرلمان الفنزويلي خورخي رودريغيز على تطبيق تليغرام، أن ما لا يقل عن 4,118 شخصا لقوا مصرعهم وأصيب 16,740 آخرون جراء الزلزالين المتتاليين اللذين وقعا في 24 يونيو وسويا أحياء بأكملها بالأرض في ولاية لا غوايرا الساحلية.
وأُدرج الآلاف غيرهم أيضا في عداد المفقودين.
