وأوضح مدير عام فرع المركز الوطني لتنمية الغطاء النباتي ومكافحة التصحر بالمنطقة الشرقية المهندس يوسف بن سليمان البدر أن الاتفاقية تهدف إلى تنمية استدامة غابات المانجروف بالمنطقة، بما يسهم في دعم الجهود الرامية إلى تنمية الغطاء النباتي والمحافظة على البيئة وتعزيز الاستدامة البيئية في المنطقة الشرقية.
وقد وقُعت الاتفاقية من جانب المركز الوطني لتنمية الغطاء النباتي مدير عام الفرع المهندس يوسف البدر ومن جانب جمعية أصدقاء البيئة رئيس مجلس الإدارة الدكتور طلال بن سلطان الرشيد.
ورفع البدر والرشيد شكرهما لسمو أمير المنطقة الشرقية على دعمه واهتمامه للمبادرات والبرامج البيئية في المنطقة.
