وأفاد البيان أن التقييم الأولي لليونيفيل يشير إلى أن جنود حفظ السلام تعرضوا لنيران من جهات غير حكومية يعتقد أنها تابعة لحزب الله. وكانت فرنسا قد حملت الحزب المدعوم من إيران مسؤولية الهجوم.
