Hyderabad:The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Standing Committee on Wednesday approved seven proposals, including a key road connectivity project, at a meeting reviewed by Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan.
The committee cleared a project to improve connectivity between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and internal urban corridors. The stretch from Gopanpally flyover to the ORR service road via Vattinagulapally (Khajaguda road stretch) will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 37 crore.
Among other approvals, the committee sanctioned development of a sports area and beautification of a flyover underpass at Balanagar at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore, and construction of a box drain with retaining walls along an existing nala at Borabanda Site-03 at an estimated Rs 2.99 crore.
It also approved development of a model Hindu graveyard at Prashantnagar in Moosapet circle with an outlay of Rs 3 crore.
The committee cleared a proposal for urban biodiversity support activities, including deployment of vehicle-mounted bucket ladders for tree pruning and public safety, at a total estimated cost of Rs 5.70 crore. Fourteen additional such vehicles will be deployed across zones.
Approval was also given to revise user charges for sports facilities under the CMC Sports Wing to streamline operations and maintenance.
The committee further cleared a proposal to fill vacancies of assistant director of sports and games inspectors through the Public Service Commission and sports quota to strengthen sports administration.
