NELLORE: Development and welfare programmes worth ₹53.25 crore were launched or taken up in Atmakur on Monday, with ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Dr P. Narayana and Kolusu Parthasarathy participating.
A foundation plaque for ₹45 crore worth of development works was unveiled at the Atmakur Municipal Office, while foundation stones were laid for several projects. Another ₹29 crore was sanctioned for improving urban infrastructure in Atmakur municipality.
The ministers inaugurated a Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple constructed at a cost of ₹75 lakh at the Atmakur TIDCO housing complex. Minister Anam said 2,000 temples had already been taken up under the state government’s target of constructing 5,000 temples through the Srivani initiative.
Foundation stones were laid for ₹1 crore pipeline works to address drinking water problems in the TIDCO colony. New power substations costing around ₹7 crore will be constructed at Perumallapadu and Annareddypalem–Maktapuram.
Minister Anam said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had sanctioned another ₹29 crore for Atmakur’s urban infrastructure, with the works scheduled to be virtually launched from Kuppam on September 22. He said the mini-bypass was being widened from a single-lane to a four-lane road.
Minister Narayana said temples would be constructed at 163 TIDCO housing complexes across the state and assured steps to provide piped river water connections to households under AMRUT 2.0.
Minister Parthasarathy said the government was working towards creating 20 lakh jobs over the next five years by attracting investments and promoting industries.
Meanwhile, ₹1.46 crore in Chief Minister’s Relief Fund assistance was distributed to 185 families. Rajya Sabha member Beeda Masthan Rao, MLC Beeda Ravichandra, Kavali MLA D. Krishna Reddy and Collector Himanshu Shukla, among others, attended.
