A tragic multi-vehicle collision near Barkha Ghuman Baisod Balay Hill in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, claimed the lives of 11 people, police officials confirmed. The accident occurred on Wednesday, at approximately 8:30 PM under the jurisdiction of the Drumandganj Police Station.

According to police reports, a truck rear-ended multiple vehicles, including a car, an SUV, and a trailer. The impact caused the car and SUV to catch fire, leading to severe casualties. Emergency services, including police and fire teams, rushed to the scene and began rescue operations with the help of local residents.

Authorities stated that the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police visited the site to assess the situation. Traffic in the area has since been brought under control, and vehicles are being diverted through alternate routes.

Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik revealed that the accident was likely caused by brake failure in the truck. Upon arrival, officials found that an Alto car was crushed between two trucks, while another vehicle had caught fire after the collision.

So far, 11 fatalities have been confirmed, and efforts are underway to identify the victims. Police teams remain at the scene, and further legal action is being carried out in accordance with established procedures. Additional details are awaited.
