Suryapet: A 13-year-old boy was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Huzurnagar in Suryapet district on Sunday, triggering tension after conflicting claims by his parents.
The deceased, identified as Kartheek, was found lying on a bed with ligature marks on his neck. His father, Koteshwar Rao, initially informed relatives that the boy had died by suicide after allegedly hanging himself from the ceiling.
However, the boy’s mother, Vijaya, accused her husband of murdering their son and staging it as a suicide. She alleged that Koteshwar Rao strangulated the boy due to personal disputes between the couple.
According to sources, the couple had been living separately for nearly a decade despite being married for around 15 years. Vijaya had been residing with her son at her parents’ house in Huzurnagar. A few months ago, Koteshwar Rao returned and began living in the same house while running a vegetable business.
Family members said tensions had escalated in recent days after Koteshwar Rao reportedly pressured Vijaya to relocate to his native place in Ibrahimpatnam, which she refused.
Based on the complaint filed by the mother, police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The body has been shifted to a local hospital for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
