Hyderabad: As many as 18.60 lakh devotees visited Sri Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada during nine-day Dasara Navaratri festivities.

While 12 lakh devotees came in 12 days during 2023 Dussehra celebrations, it increased to 12.50 lakh in 2024. With the implementation of the Stree Shakti scheme in 2025, a large number of women started flocking to the temple in free buses.

The number of devotees increased unexpectedly. This year, 18.60 lakh people came, an additional five and a half lakh people compared to three years ago.

Devotees praised the arrangements made by the administration. The officials have given utmost importance to quality without compromising on anything, including supervision of devotees, provision of facilities, traffic congestion control, parking arrangements, preparation of prasadam, annadanam, and distribution of water bottles.

In the past, water packets were provided to devotees. This time, lakhs of water bottles were brought and made available. Around 32.19 lakh bottles were provided in 11 days. Surveillance with drones and the placement of wrist tags with QR codes to ensure that children do not get lost have yielded positive results.

These tags were placed on 63,785 children. Due to this, 51 children who went missing during the festival were immediately found and handed over to their parents.
