Florals for spring… yes, we’ve heard it, but floral dresses have earned their place. Step outside in April, anywhere from Mumbai to Milan, and it tracks. When the heat kicks in and getting dressed becomes a negotiation with the weather, it’s the easiest thing to reach for, and more often than not, also the right answer.
And it makes sense. Florals have made their presence known across the Spring/Summer 2026 runways. At Chanel, they came textured and tactile, with the house’s camellia reworked into something looser and less polished. Dior kept things tonal, translating florals through lace and seed-pearl embroidery, while Chloé stayed closest to the classic: bold, painterly blooms on easy, throw-on silhouettes. At Gaurav Gupta, florals turned sculptural, moving off the fabric entirely and into form, while Lovebirds Studio has flattened them into graphic, abstract motifs.

So how do you translate that into something you’ll wear on a 32-degree afternoon? Start with fabric: lightweight cottons, voiles, silks that don’t cling. Look for a point of interest: maybe it’s a slightly oversized bloom, a textured finish, or a print that feels a little less expected. And keep the shape of your floral dresses simple enough that they do the work for you.
