Tirupati: Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Friday said the 2024 electoral verdict had been a historic lesson against the arrogance of power. He maintained that people have entrusted power to the NDA coalition not merely with authority but with the responsibility of rebuilding the state.

Addressing a public meeting under the theme “Two Years of Trust, Development and Welfare” at Daminedu near Tirupati to mark two years of the NDA coalition government, the Deputy CM said the coalition government has restored confidence within the people of the state, renewing the hope of an entire generation.
Stating that people are supreme in a democracy, Pawan Kalyan underlined that the 2024 verdict had not merely been an election result, but a powerful message against a political culture that treated power as everything. “People do not merely cast votes; they write history,” he observed.
Thanking voters, farmers, party workers, and leaders for the coalition’s victory, the Deputy Chief Minister maintained that the mandate belongs to the people and not to any single political party. He reiterated that the coalition government has been formed not to share power but to share responsibility and work towards the reconstruction of the state.
Pawan Kalyan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s experience and Jana Sena’s commitment to public aspirations has laid a strong foundation for the state’s development.
Referring to criticism over Jana Sena contesting only 21 Assembly seats, the JS president said the party had accepted the arrangement in the larger interests of the state. People responded by rewarding Jana Sena with a 100 per cent strike rate.
The Deputy CM maintained that democracy cannot be strengthened by weakening local bodies. He said village panchayats are the foundation of governance and leadership. He noted that the government has conducted Gram Sabhas across all 13,326 gram panchayats as part of efforts to strengthen local self-governance.
Pawan said the coalition’s biggest achievement over the last two years is not merely building roads and infrastructure, but restoring public faith in institutions. Citing Srinivasapuram panchayat in Tirupati district, he said its revenue potential rose from ₹75 lakh to ₹1.66 crore through the Swarna Panchayat initiative and digitisation of assets. He called for strengthening democratic institutions and rising above caste and regional divisions. He wanted governments to work for future generations rather than the next election.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav paid tributes to those who lost their lives in the recent Visakhapatnam Steel Plant accident and expressed condolences to their families. Madhav pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has attracted investment proposals worth nearly ₹14 lakh crore over the past two years. He said the centre and state governments are working together to drive development, create wealth, and expand welfare programmes across the state.
