At the tournament’s halfway point on Friday evening, Scottie Scheffler trailed leader Matt Fitzpatrick by seven shots. But the World No. 1 posted one of the day’s best rounds on Saturday, a sizzling seven-under 64, to climb within three shots of Fitzpatrick’s lead.
Now Fitzpatrick (-17) and Scheffler (-14) will play in Sunday afternoon’s final pairing in what is sure to be an entertaining final round. Fitzpatrick won this tournament once before, in 2023, prevailing in a playoff against Jordan Spieth, while Scheffler won the following year, in 2024.
