World Wide Technology Round 3 tee times: What to know
The 2026 PGA Tour season is winding down, and so are players’ opportunities to secure their status for 2027.
Thirty-six-hole leader Ben James (-15) is already well-positioned for next year, with a current FedEx Cup Fall ranking of 62. But a win this week would push him to No. 52, and if he could hang on to that spot through the RSM in two weeks, he’ll be guaranteed an invitation to next season’s first two Signature Events: the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational, both of which feature limited fields and $20 million purses.
The man one shot behind James on the leaderboard, Peter Malnati, is in a very different situation. Currently ranked No. 157, a win this week would push him to No. 81 — and into the 2027 exemption safe zone. Second place, however, wouldn’t be enough, though it would push him to No. 107 with two tournaments to go.
With 15 players within five shots of James’ lead, he’ll have to keep his foot on the gas for the next two rounds.
James will tee off at 12:42 p.m. alongside Peter Malnati and Zac Blair.
