Kothagudem: As many as 38 persons were trapped at a sand reach near Charla in Kothagudem district while engaged in sand loading and transportation activities in the Godavari river.
Those stranded include lorry drivers, machine operators, and cleaners who were present at the site for routine work when they got stuck mid-river.
Officials have arranged boats to rescue the trapped persons and bring them back safely. Further details are awaited.
