The San Francisco 49ers will be without starting linebacker Dre Greenlaw during their Week 6 Monday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders.

On Tuesday night, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that Greenlaw’s attempt to appeal his one-game suspension was denied.

On Monday, it was announced that Greenlaw was issued a one-game suspension after he used his helmet to headbutt Seattle Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV, who was not wearing a helmet.

After he leaned in to Jones IV, Greenlaw was ejected from the game.

Greenlaw’s interaction with Jones IV came after he chased Sam Darnold out of bounds and landed a late hit on the Seattle sideline.

The interaction caused a scuffle between Greenlaw and the rest of the Seahawks team.
