The Arizona Cardinals lost to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 and allowed a fantastic performance by 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy threw four touchdown passes without a turnover in the Niners’ 36-30 win over Arizona.

While Purdy was spurned for a second consecutive NFC Offensive Player of the Week, he was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September following his play against the Cardinals.

Through three games and a 3-0 start for San Francisco, Purdy has nine touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown. He leads the NFL with a 133.1 passer rating and is tied for first with nine touchdown passes. Purdy is the only quarterback with multiple touchdown passes and a passer rating of at least 100 in every game so far this season. In Week 2, he completed 20-of-22 passes for 287 yards, two touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown, becoming the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his pass attempts, pass for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns and have a rushing touchdown in the same game.

He is now 6-1 in seven career starts with the Cardinals with 16 touchdown passes against them.

The Cardinals will not face the 49ers again until the regular season finale in Week 18.
