Mahabubnagar: The Jadcherla Railway Station in Telangana is being redeveloped at a cost of Rs.36.67 crore, with 79 per cent of the works completed. The project aims to improve passenger amenities, accessibility and overall travel experience.

The redevelopment includes an upgraded circulating area with improved parking facilities, a compound wall, a modern station facade and an improved concourse. Platform improvements, including granite flooring and VDC works, have also been taken up.

The project features a second entry with a new station building, circulating area and approach roads. Other planned facilities include Pay & Use toilets, an entrance arch, an additional Covered Over Platform (COP) and a 12-metre-wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB).

Three lifts connecting the existing foot overbridges have been completed, along with platform improvement works on Platforms 1, 2 and 3.

Meanwhile, tiling work at the Pay & Use toilet block, facade and entrance arch cladding, water supply and drainage works, and construction of the additional COP are in progress.

Foundation works for the gangway, lifts and escalators associated with the proposed 12-metre-wide foot overbridge are also underway.

The redevelopment is expected to provide passengers with improved facilities and a safer, more comfortable travel experience.
