The JD Sports shopper revealed how she bagged cheaper Nike trainers instantly with no promotion code or anything. The trick can help you save a lot of money in future

A JD Sports customer has revealed a straightforward trick to secure brand new Nike trainers at an instant discount. Fellow shoppers expressed their gratitude for the money-saving tip, which could potentially save people hundreds of pounds over time.

Writing on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains group, customer Sophie Louise detailed how she acquired a pair of £100 trainers for £64.99. The remarkable part? They weren’t discounted or purchased using a promotional code. She told the group on social media: “This may be common knowledge but just in case – thought I’d share as it could save a lot of people a fortune!!

“I went into JD to find some Nike Air Force 1s. I naturally went straight to the ladies section and tried on a size 6, I couldn’t see the mint ones I was after so I tried the plain white.”

In the Facebook group, she added: “I then showed the shop assistant my phone where I had the Nike website loaded with the mint ones to ask if they had these in stock, but realised the screen I was showing was actually junior. These go all the way up to a size 6, the man confirmed that junior sizes are identical to adult sizes all the way up to 6, but a fraction of the price because you don’t pay tax on them!

“So the identical white Air Force 1s in the ladies section were £100, two shelves away on the junior shelf… £64.99!! In the end I ordered directly from Nike because I loved the green. Wondering how much money I could have saved over the years if I’d have known adult size 6 is identical to junior size 6.”

If you want to attempt this tip yourself, it’s worth trying on some children’s sizes first to check the fit, as sizing can vary. Because junior shoes are unisex, they are slightly wider and marginally different in shape.

Meanwhile, Sophie’s tip has since been praised by hundreds of shoppers. One wrote: “I have always bought junior trainers being a size 6 myself purely cause they’re a fraction of the cost of ladies, the only difference I find sometimes is the fitting, but to be honest for the money I save it’s worth it.”

Another said: “I’m a 5 and always buy the junior size, I point blank refuse to buy ladies unless you can’t get the style in juniors. I bought a pair of Vapor max, £100 junior, £165 Ladies, total rip off!”

A third chimed in: “Ooh I’m a 6 and spent years jealous of those who could buy from kids for cheaper!! How did i not know this.”

While a fourth commented: “I’ve done that before now, I’m usually a size 6, but, depending on where I shop, sometimes I can get a 5 1/2, which is classed as junior, and cheaper.”

And a fifth wrote: “I always buy kids! My husband got me some ladies Air Forces in my size and they are so big! It’s like a leg work out wearing them trying to keep them on. My kiddie ones are so much more comfortable!”
