Dhurandhar 2 is fast emerging as a major box office force, now closing in on the long-standing record of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to potentially become the second highest-grossing Indian film worldwide. Starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy action sequel has been enjoying a phenomenal run since its release on March 19, 2026. According to trade estimates, the film has already collected ₹1739.14 crore gross globally in just 26 days, leaving it only ₹60.86 crore short of surpassing Baahubali 2, which concluded its lifetime at ₹1800 crore.
The film’s impressive performance is driven by both domestic and international markets. In India, it has amassed ₹1123 crore net, translating to about ₹1325.14 crore gross, while overseas markets like North America, the UK, Australia, and Germany have contributed another ₹414 crore. Despite facing competition from new releases such as Dacoit and Vaazha 2, the film continues to draw strong footfalls, thanks largely to positive word-of-mouth.
Reacting to this remarkable box office journey, producer M. S. Raju stated that records are meant to be broken, while also acknowledging the incredible achievement of Prabhas and S. S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2, which has held the second position for several years. He emphasized that films crossing the ₹1000 crore mark belong to an elite league, achievable only by filmmakers with exceptional vision and scale, and expressed pride in the growing dominance of Indian directors in this space.
At present, Dangal continues to hold the top position with ₹2059.04 crore, followed by Baahubali 2, while Dhurandhar 2 has already surpassed major blockbusters like Pushpa 2: The Rule, RRR, and K.G.F: Chapter 2. With its steady momentum and strong theatrical hold, the film now appears poised to overtake Baahubali 2, making its climb to the second spot seem almost inevitable.
