Archana Puran Singh Has ‘No Work’, 63-Year-Old Actress Regrets Turning Down Offers For Kapil’s Show

Archana Puran Singh is a famous ’90s actress who has established herself and made her own empire. While no matter what the world says, she is paid for her laugh, it is not easy to do so. Archana had laughed at times when she was going through extreme personal lows. Now, the actress revealed that no one is offering her work as she has declined many projects.

Archana Puran Singh talked about how she is not being approached for any work due to Kapil Sharma’s show

Archana Puran Singh has been part of Kapil Sharma’s show as a judge since she replaced Navjot Singh Sidhu in 2019. However, due to the shooting of the weekend episode, Archana’s work was limited to being part of Kapil. She couldn’t take up new projects due to her commitments. In an interview with News18, Archana Puran Singh talked about not being part of films all these years. 

The gorgeous actress, who is known for playing ‘Ms Briganza’ in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, revealed that she has not been able to work all these years as she was part of Kapil’s show. She added that she recently received a call for a project that required her to travel to Scotland for a 25-day shoot. However, for Archana, it wasn’t possible to leave Kapil’s show.

Archana Puran Singh further revealed that when the show was on TV, they had to atleast shoot for 100 episodes in a year. It was the reason why she had no time to take up any new project. She ended up saying no to a lot of good films. She added that due to her denial, people have now stopped giving her work. Archana was quoted as saying:

“I haven’t been able to work in films for all these years. This one time, I got a call. They required me to travel to Scotland for a shoot for 25 days. But it wasn’t possible for me to leave the shoot of Kapil’s show and film elsewhere. Earlier, when the show used to be aired on TV, we would film a hundred episodes a year. That’s the reason I didn’t have time to anything else. I ended up saying no to a lot of films. And since I’ve said no so many times, people stopped approaching me for acting assignments.”

Ever since Kapil Sharma’s show shifted to Netflix, Archana Puran Singh has more time to take on other projects. She revealed that they now have to shoot season by season. Recently, Archana Puran Singh was seen in a pivotal role in the film, Toaster, which featured Rajkummar Rao.

Archana has been part of Rajkummar Rao’s film,Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and so when he took the actor to make his debut as producer, he called Archana for the role. The actress further prayed that the film would give her two more projects. Archana further added that after 44 years in the industry, nobody takes her seriously and offers her diverse roles. She added that she has also been tagged as someone who could do comic roles. She was quoted as saying:

“No matter how much I try, I’m not being able to convince filmmakers. Nobody is offering me roles. They aren’t very convinced that I’m an actor. They still think that I’m somebody who sits on a chair and laughs.”
