Udupi: For Preetham G Poojary, a student from Shankaranarayana in Udupi district, the SSLC results were not just about marks, but about fulfilling a long-cherished dream — and he did so in perfect fashion, scoring a flawless 625 out of 625.

The son of a private bus conductor and a homemaker, Preetham’s achievement stands as a testament to perseverance, family and school support, and unwavering focus.

Speaking to reporters, Preetham remembered and thanked the support he received from the parents and the teachers.

“I was confident of scoring above 620, but was not sure of 625 as I was nervous about my handwriting and minor spelling mistakes,” he told reporters. “When my father called today and told me I had scored full marks, I kept asking him repeatedly if it was true,” he said with a smile.

Preetham admitted to being nervous about the results, particularly over concerns about handwriting and minor spelling mistakes. “I was worried about small errors. But my teachers and parents always encouraged me,” he said.

He credited his success to the consistent support from his family and teachers. “At home, I always had good support. My father would tell me not to worry about marks and that whatever I learn will stay with me. He would say God will reward hard work,” Preetham said.

He also recalled the encouragement he received from his Kannada teacher Vaishali. “She supported me when I was stressed about handwriting,” he said, adding that another teacher, Shamita, often pushed him to aim for the top rank.

“My parents have always wanted me to secure the top rank since my early school days,” he said.

Looking ahead, Preetham aspires to pursue engineering and prepare for the JEE. “Hard work is the mantra,” he said, summing up the philosophy that helped him achieve perfection.
