Ant and Dec’s behind-the-scenes requests were revealed by their Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda Holden ahead of the ITV show’s first live semi-final
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden said she’s “never seen anything like” Ant and Dec‘s secret stash on the show. According to the 55-year-old, the presenting duo request a box packed with treats when they are on hosting duties for the ITV programme.
This also seemed to be the case during their presenting gig on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa last year. Speaking with Amanda on the Heart Radio Breakfast Show, Ashley Roberts revealed the pair allowed her to have a biscuit while she was in camp on her birthday.
However, after Amanda revealed she could’ve potentially had more treats, she joked about being “upset”.
“I got a little Hobnob,” she told her co-stars Jason King and Amanda, to which the latter replied: “From Ant and Dec’s stash?”.
After confirming it came from the duo, she continued: “They always have a little stash when we do Britain’s Got Talent, you’ve never seen anything like their stash at the side of the stage.”
“A little snack moment?” Ashley asked. “They have got sweets and crisps and biscuits and snacks, they would’ve literally just tossed that over the bridge into the camp for you,” Amanda replied.
Humorously expressing her disappointment, she then asked: “Just the one though?”, before joking: “Now that I know they had more lying around, that makes me a little upset.”
Ant and Dec return to screens on Saturday for the first live semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent. This comes after a chaotic I’m A Celebrity… South Africa final, which was marked by a series of dramatic moments.
During the show, Jimmy Bullard accused Adam Thomas of being “abusive, aggressive and intimidating” during their time in South Africa. This claim followed Adam’s fiery confrontation with the sportsman after he quit a trial, which almost cost him his place on the show.
Addressing the moment, Jimmy said: “I absolutely threw him under the bus, I get it. I’ll wear that. But what I don’t stand on is someone being abusive, aggressive and intimidating. I don’t stand on it. You were there [he told the hosts], you had front row seats, you didn’t show none of the C-bombs.”
In response, Ant denied that Adam had been intimidating during the altercation.
As tensions grew, Gemma Collins and Sinitta walked off set, while Jimmy and David Haye demanded that the “real coverage” be aired.
The dramatic final concluded with Adam being crowned Legend of the Jungle, after beating Mo Farah to the title.
Speaking about the result, Ashley said: “I hope Adam enjoys it, I think he’s been through so much, and I just hope that he can take a second, because I feel like he doesn’t feel like he maybe deserves it because he’s won.”
Scarlett Moffatt added: “He does deserve it. It was hard in there, and he was amazing, and he was a friend to us all. It is really disheartening that he didn’t get to have that moment of glory.”
Britain’s Got Talent airs tonight at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
