End Of RTC Strike : Cong Celebrates

Hyderabad: Congress leaders celebrated the ending of the RTC staff strike on Saturday, organising a symbolic palabhishekam to honour Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for achieving the breakthrough, besides bursting firecrackers and distributing sweets.

Telangana Fishermen Co-operative Societies Federation (TFCSF) chairman Mettu Sai Kumar who set off fireworks to mark the occasion, along with his supporters said that Revanth Reddy’s ‘Praja Palana’ government took several pivotal decisions, including approval of 11 per cent Pay Revision Commission hike, the constitution of committee for merger of the RTC with the state government, and giving the green signal for union elections.

Khairtabad DCC president Motha Rohit said thanked Revanth Reddy for fulfilling the long-pending demands of RTC employees and bringing relief to thousands of families. He also thanked Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud for their commitment towards RTC workers.

The celebrations followed a call by Ponnam Prabhakar to mark the resolution of the strike. The minister urged Congress leaders and cadre to celebrate alongside workers at every depot after discussion led by Deputy CM Bhatti resulted in the government accepting several long-pending demands.
