With the days leading up to the 2026 NFL draft, the names that have been dominating the headlines are none other than former The Athletic reporter, Dianna Russini and the New England Patriots’ head coach, Mike Vrabel. They started to grab attention when Page Six released a set of photos showing them together at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. They could be seen hugging, holding hands, and lounging together. 

While fans had only assumed that Dianna and Mike were cheating on their respective spouses with each other, many have now become convinced of this with the new set of photos released by the same outlet. For those unaware, the new pictures from Page Six show Dianna and Mike kissing each other. As the controversy continues to grow bigger and bigger, Mike’s firing from the Tennessee Titans is being linked to his alleged affair with Dianna.

A couple of hours back, Jared Smith, Fox Sports Radio host, chimed in like many others on the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini controversy. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter), Jared wrote, “We’re like one story away from finding out the Titans uncovered the affair, and it being the reason they fired him in 2024.” No sooner did he tweet this than thousands of users began agreeing with him. However, it is worth noting that the post is just Jared’s own opinion, and the Tennessee Titans are continuing to keep their distance from the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini drama. 

For those unaware, Mike Vrabel was fired from the Tennessee Titans in 2024 after spending six seasons with the team. According to a report by The Times of India, in January 2024, Amy Adams Strunk, the controlling owner of the Tennessee Titans, opened up about how the team has actually never considered trading Mike Vrabel. As we already mentioned, instead of trading him, they ended up firing Mike. 

At the time, Amy Adams said, “Yes, there was. But there’s a bit of a misconception about a coach’s contract, say, versus a player’s contract. A coach’s contract, you can’t trade them unless they are a willing partner to that trade.” She went on to add that, even though they had considered it, given the league’s rules, it would have put them back three weeks. She said, “To get the right head coach, I was just not willing to go to the back of the line and take a chance of missing out on someone we really wanted.” 

Will Mike Vrabel be fired from the New England Patriots following the Dianna Russini controversy?

With the Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel alleged affair drama intensifying every day, all eyes are on the New England Patriots team and what they choose to do next with head coach, Mike Vrabel. Rumours about the Patriots firing him are also at an all-time high, especially with the new set of pictures that Page Six published two days back, on April 23, 2026. It is believed that the pictures date back six years, to 2020. In the photos, Mike and Dianna appeared to be on a date in a romantic, dimly lit bar in Manhattan, New York. They can be seen having a close conversation. Among the pictures, the one that caught the most attention was the one of Mike leaning towards Dianna and allegedly kissing her.

Based on eyewitness records, “They were kissing, and they were all over each other. He had a ring on.” However, it is worth mentioning that even after the photos emerged, the New England Patriots have not made any statements suggesting that they plan to fire Mike and continue to stand by him amid his ongoing controversy.
