Visakhapatnam: Fed up with his son’s rash driving and multiple fines, a father from Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, torched his son’s motorcycle, which he had bought with his hard-earned money.
As per reports, an auto driver from Bantaka Colony near Vepagunta has two sons. About a year ago, he bought his son a bike after the boy pestered him, saying he needed it for college. Relenting to the pressure, he bought it. The boy, with the newfound joy of owning a two-wheeler, started riding out with friends and going to college. He also ignored traffic rules and met with an accident a while ago, for which the father had to shell out Rs one lakh in hospital expenses.
As the multiple fines piled up, the tipping point came when a challan for triple riding was received. The father lost his patience, and in a fit of rage that his son had become reckless because of the bike he bought, he took the vehicle away from the colony and set it on fire. Police were informed about a burnt vehicle on the roadside and are investigating the matter.
