This Morning host Alison Hammond has landed a new exciting role on ITV as the host of ‘Name Thet Tune’ -according to Alison the gameshow is going to be “bigger, louder, and more feel-good than ever”

Alison Hammond is set to present a reboot of the iconic gameshow Name That Tune.

The musical gameshow was fronted by Tom O’Connor then Lionel Blair from 1976 to 1987 and involved contestants trying to guess songs from clues and notes. The new Name That Tune will reportedly be getting a very modern makeover with a big glitzy production and a dedicated band to play the tracks.

It is expected to air on Saturday nights which might explain why This Morning star Alison, 51, claimed she would be too busy to host BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Although execs know she is free to take up offers from other channels, Alison is very much seen as an ITV face, and the channel are keen to maintain that link. She already hosts This Morning and For the Love of Dogs for the channel, but this would arguably be her biggest gig to date with ITV.

“It remains to be seen exactly when it would air, but after being touted as a host for Strictly this show might end up seeing her go head-to-head with it.”

Alison told TV Zone UK: “As a massive music lover, my biggest challenge as a host will be trying not to grab the mic and start singing along when one of my all-time favourite tunes comes on!

“And trust me… that will take serious self control! I grew up absolutely loving the original show so being part of this now feels like a real full-circle moment.

“I cannot wait to get into the studio, put the contestants through their paces, and see who really knows their music. And let me tell you, being joined by the super-talented Name That Tune band, who’ll be belting out some of the biggest songs on the planet in their own unique, electric style… oh, it’s going to be next-level. Bigger, louder, and more feel-good than ever this is going to be EPIC!”
