Fans will be disappointed to hear that Zendaya, who’s attended the Met Gala seven times since 2015, will reportedly not be present at Anna Wintour’s event this year.
Zendaya is is said to be missing this year’s Met Gala, after becoming a highlight at the annual event – which is taking place in New York on Monday evening.
All eyes will be on this year’s red carpet as Beyonce will be making her grand return. The Cowboy Carter singer is hosting the event alongside Venus Williams, Nicole Kidman and Anna Wintour. This year’s theme was previously announced as Fashion is Art.
While Zendaya has been a staple of the exclusive bash in recent years, it has been reported that the she is taking a break from the spotlight after back-to-back press tours for her latest projects, The Drama and Euphoria season three.
She has not spoken publicly about the claims, which were first reported by Elle. This comes just days before the annual fashion event amid a packed year for the Emmy winner. A24’s The Drama, in which she stars opposite Robert Pattinson, premiered April 3, while the long-awaited third season of Euphoria debuted on HBO April 12.

Still ahead, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey arrives July 17, Spider-Man: Brand New Day premieres July 31 and the third Dune film is set for Dec. 18.
Zendaya has attended the Met Gala seven times since making her debut in 2015 and served as a co-chair in 2024. Last year, she appeared in an all-white Louis Vuitton suit.
Her absence also means fans likely shouldn’t expect a Met Gala appearance alongside Tom Holland ahead of their upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day release.
The Marvel actor has never attended the event. While the couple has not publicly confirmed whether they are married, Zendaya’s long-time stylist Law Roach said in March at the Actor Awards that the pair had already tied the knot.
As for Monday’s event, confirmed guests include Sabrina Carpenter, Teyana Taylor, Zoë Kravitz, Chase Sui Wonders and Jeff Bezos, while Kim Kardashian and her sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, are among the regulars.
This year’s exhibition theme, “Costume Art,” will spotlight the intersection of fashion and fine art. In other news, Zendaya recently showed support for Tom as she was sporting what appeared to be a wedding ring.
Hollywood’s favourite couple reportedly tied the knot last month, although neither of them have actually confirmed the rumours.
The Dune actress was seen with a huge diamond on her left hand as she cheered on Tom at a California padel match.
Previously hinting at why she hasn’t confirmed rumours about her wedding, Zendaya told the Jennifer Hudson show: “It’s important to pour into yourself as well and hold things sacred to yourself and your loved ones and have those moments too and create that little healthy boundary there.
“Because at the end of the day, you have to fill your cup too, so I just try and find that balance and there really is no blueprint or road map, we don’t know what we’re doing and I definitely don’t know what I am doing.”
Zendaya also called Tom her “best friend in the whole world” as she opened up about the actor upping his game in the kitchen and cooking vegetarian dishes for her as a romantic gesture.
“It’s really cute,” she said. “His brother is a chef and he came out with a cookbook recently and it’s really sweet because Tom will whip it out and be like ‘Okay, I’m going to find all the vegetarian things and and I’m going to try different recipes from my brother for you to try’.”
