Karimnagar: Panic gripped the Jyothinagar area of Karimnagar on Sunday after unidentified gunmen stormed the PMJ Jewelry showroom, opened fire on staff, and fled with a substantial quantity of valuables. The daylight robbery left four employees injured and has raised serious concerns about public safety in the city.

According to sources, a group of assailants entered the high-end jewelry store posing as customers. Within moments, they pulled out firearms and began firing to create panic and prevent resistance. In the chaos, four staff members sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to a nearby private hospital for emergency treatment.

After the shooting, the attackers looted display counters, stuffing jewelry into bags before escaping. Local residents and neighboring shopkeepers, alerted by the gunfire, quickly informed the police. Senior officials and task force teams arrived at the scene within minutes to secure the area and initiate a preliminary investigation.

Police have cordoned off the showroom and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects and trace their escape route. Forensic teams have also been deployed to collect evidence.

A massive manhunt has been launched across the district, with checkpoints set up at key exit points to intercept the gang. Details regarding the value of the stolen property are expected after the store management completes an inventory.
