Kim Kardashian has been exposed at the Met Gala after it was discovered that her iPhone’s lock screen is just one of her four children to her ex-husband, Kanye West
Kim Kardashian raised eyebrows at the Met Gala as a flash of her phone revealed her lock screen is a photo of just one of her four children.
The reality star turned trainee lawyer stepped out on Monday night at the fashion event of the year, with her mum, Kris Jenner and younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner also walking the red carpet.
But while her children, North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, eight, and Psalm, six, were at home in Calabasas, Kim made sure that at least one would be with her at all times. As she stepped out of the van, she was being driven around in, Kim’s lockscreen on her iPhone was lit up.
And she was greeted by a picture of her daughter, Chicago. In the snap, her youngest daughter was seen posing in what looked like a school uniform, smiling at the camera. In the past, Kim has given glimpses of her lockscreen, including a shot of her daughter, North, as a baby, and a loved-up snap with her ex-husband, Kanye West.
Kim ensured all eyes were on her as she arrived at the Met Gala in a metallic bodysuit by British artist Allen Jones and Whitaker Malen, featuring a customised breastplate on the front.
“I have seen his work referenced so many times by people in fashion, and I’ve always been a big admirer of his work,” she told Vogue of her desire to work with Jones. Kim chose to complete her look with a pair of closed-toe heels, and while she’s previously been decorated with flashy jewellery, she avoided such choices this year.
Her new platinum blonde hair was styled into messy waves, flowing down past her shoulders. Prior to the event, Kim revealed to her fans what she likes to eat before the Met. Sharing a snap of herself holding an ice cream cone, she said: “Met prep.”
This year marked Kim’s 13th appearance at the famous event, co-chaired by Venus Williams, Beyoncé and Dame Anna Wintour. Each year, the biggest celebrities flock to New York for the event, hosted by Condé Nast and organised by Global Chief Content Officer and Artistic Director and former Vogue editor, Dame Anna.
Kim first attended in 2013 while heavily pregnant, wearing a floral Givenchy dress. Over the years, her looks have not disappointed, and in 2022, she wore Marilyn Monroe’s legendary Bob Mackie Dress. Speaking about her mission to lose 16 pounds over three weeks to fit into the dress, Kim told Vogue: “It was such a challenge.”
She added: “It was like a role. I was determined to fit. I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.”
She hailed Marilyn, wearing the dress, as “that look” after the late star sang Happy Birthday to President John F Kennedy on May 16, 1962, at Madison Square Garden in New York. Kim had previously spent 14 hours bleaching her hair in order to pull off the platinum blonde look for the occasion.
