Hyderabad: The Election Commission will begin special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana from June 25 to July 24 and the final electoral roll will be published on October 1. Apart from Telangana, SIR will be conducted in 15 other states and three Union Territories.

As part of this exercise, State Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit every household to guide them in filling up the form. In case any house is locked or closed, the BLO is directed to make at least three visits.

“The dates of the visits of the BLOs will be shared in advance and widely publicised in the locality by the Electoral Registration Officers (ERO). The voters are also requested to fill up the details of their names or the names of their parents or grandfather or grandmother in the electoral roll of the previous SIR 2002. Voters may also download their Enumeration Forms and submit the filled-in forms online, which will be verified by the BLOs during their house visits,” he informed.

The names of all the voters who have submitted their duly filled Enumeration Forms to the BLO during the H2H enumeration period will be included in the Draft Electoral Roll which will be published on July 31. This will include names of voters who have submitted the filled and signed forms online also.

“In case any elector is unable to submit their filled in Enumeration form within the specified time, he or she may file Form 6, along with prescribed Declaration Form for inclusion during the claims and objections period, which is from July 31 to August 30. For electors who have not furnished details in full, ERO or AERO will initiate inquiry and the electors can submit necessary documents during the hearing,” the CEO explained.

The official said that during the claims and objection period (July 31 to August 30), voters can, apply for inclusion of name in the roll as new elector using Form 6 (with New Declaration Form) or may apply for shifting of residence within the constituency or outside the constituency, correction or updation of entries, replacement of EPIC and marking of PwD using Form 8. Declaration Form shall be submitted with Form 8 for voters shifting from outside Telangana.
