Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has hailed the plans to have the country’s first Quantum-Secure Communications Test Bed in Amaravati, describing it as a major milestone in positioning Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of next-generation cyber and digital technologies.

The facility would be hosted by SRM University-AP in partnership with Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and Amaravati Quantum Valley.

In a statement, Naidu said secure communication systems, reliable digital infrastructure and cyber resilience would play a decisive role in shaping the future of nations.

Amaravati, he said, is rapidly emerging as a major hub for telecommunications, information technology, quantum technologies and advanced digital infrastructure. Significant progress had been made in these sectors following the inauguration of the Quantum Computing Reference Facilities on April 14.

According to him, the facility would support research, testing and development in quantum communication hardware, photonic and optical systems, encryption technologies, secure network infrastructure and next-generation cyber defence solutions.

Naidu said the initiative would provide national and international recognition to Amaravati in the areas of Make in India technologies and secure digital infrastructure. The capital city “is poised to evolve into a leading destination for frontier technologies, advanced manufacturing and deep-tech innovation.”

The CM observed that the project would open up new opportunities for students, researchers, startups and young innovators from AP to participate in developing transformative technologies that could shape the future of the world.

He congratulated the institutions, scientists, researchers, faculty members, innovators and students associated with the establishment of the Quantum-Secure Communications Test Bed.
