Blast Trailer: Arjun Sarja and Abhirami Play a Family Hiding a Dangerous Secret

The trailer of Blast has been unveiled, offering a compelling first look at a thriller that places family at the centre of its action-packed narrative. Starring Arjun Sarja and Abhirami in the lead, the film presents them as part of an unassuming household where a carefully maintained facade begins to crack when an unexpected crisis strikes.

Also featuring Preity Mukundhan in a key role, the trailer introduces the trio as a regular family going about their daily lives. Their interactions suggest an ordinary domestic existence, but the mood quickly shifts as danger enters their world. As the tension escalates, it becomes evident that the family is concealing abilities and instincts that set them apart from the people around them.

What distinguishes Blast from more conventional action films is its focus on a family rather than a single hero. Instead of one protagonist pretending to be harmless before revealing his strength, the trailer suggests that each member of the household has a role to play in confronting the threat. The mystery lies in what event compels them to cast aside their disguise and resort to violence.

The answers, for now, remain hidden until the film reaches theatres later this month.

Ravi Basrur Makes His Tamil Debut

Blast marks the directorial debut of Subash K Raj, who appears to have crafted a thriller that combines emotional stakes with stylised action and suspense. The trailer hints at a story built around both family bonds and survival, with equal emphasis on character dynamics and high-intensity sequences. The supporting cast includes Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, Dileepan, Vinod Sagar and Bala Hasan R.

Adding further intrigue is the music by Ravi Basrur, who makes his Tamil cinema debut with the project. Widely recognised for his work on KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2, Basrur’s score lends the trailer an ominous and larger-than-life quality. The technical team includes cinematographer Arun Radhakrishnan, editor Pradeep E Ragav and art director Veeramani Ganesan.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, the film has Archana Kalpathi as creative producer and Aishwarya Kalpathi as associate creative producer. Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh serve as producers.

With its unusual premise, accomplished cast and a trailer that promises both suspense and action, Blast has emerged as one of the more intriguing Tamil releases on the horizon. The film is set to hit theatres on May 28.
