Grand Telangana State Formation Day Celebrations at Parade Grounds on June 2

Hyderabad: The state government will celebrate the Telangana Formation Day in a grand manner at the Parade Ground, Secunderabad on June 2, with elaborate arrangements being made by various departments for the ceremony. Senior officials reviewed the preparations during a meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Special chief secretary, roads and buildings, Vikas Raj directed officials to ensure flawless arrangements. He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would first visit Gun Park on the day and pay tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial before participating in the main official function at Parade Ground.

During the review meeting, officials discussed arrangements to be made at Parade Ground and Gun Park. Vikas Raj instructed every department to appoint a nodal officer to ensure coordination among various agencies for smooth conduct of the programme.

He directed the police department to make security arrangements along the routes to be used by dignitaries and ensure traffic management and parking facilities at Parade Ground. Officials were asked to prepare a detailed traffic route map and take measures to avoid traffic congestion in and around the venue.

The roads and buildings department was instructed to arrange waterproof shamianas and barricading at the venue in view of possible weather conditions. Civic authorities were directed to ensure sanitation works, cleanliness and drinking water facilities at the venue and surrounding areas.

To create a festive atmosphere, the cultural department was asked to organise performances by artistes. Power department officials were instructed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, arrange generators and illuminate prominent locations in the city, including the Assembly, Secretariat, Charminar, Praja Bhavan and other government offices with decorative lighting.

The information and public relations department was directed to make arrangements for live telecast and wide publicity of the Formation Day celebrations. Officials of all departments were asked to work in coordination to ensure successful conduct of the programme. Vikas Raj also instructed all departments to begin joint rehearsals at Parade Ground from May 25.

The meeting was attended by special chief secretary Navin Mittal, home secretary Shikha Goel, DG (law and order) Mahesh Bhagwat, ADG (Intelligence) Vijay Kumar, TGGenco CMD S. Harish, I&PR special commissioner G. Mukunda Reddy, HMWS&SB MD K. Ashok Reddy, senior police officials and representatives of various departments.
