Nalgonda: Twenty motorcycles, two cars and a lorry seized in different cases were gutted in a fire at the Kethepally police station on Wednesday.
According to Kethepally SHO Hari Babu, the fire originated in an agricultural field adjacent to the police station and spread to the premises, damaging the vehicles. The blaze did not spread to the police station building.
Two fire engines from Nakrekal reached the spot and brought the fire under control. ““We are investigating whether the field owner set fire to the stubble after harvesting or whether the blaze was caused by a discarded cigarette,” he added.
A case has been registered and investigation is under way.
