The Britain’s Got Talent audience member said that while she loved the show, one thing left her “gutted” – prompting Amanda Holden to step in and rectify the situation
Amanda Holden has shown compassion for a Britain’s Got Talent audience member who felt “gutted” during last weekend’s semi-final. Back on the Heart Radio Breakfast Show on Monday (May 18), Amanda and co-host Jamie Theakston spoke with their “first caller of the day” – Sue from Stevenage.
When asked how her weekend went, Sue disclosed she’d been to the fourth Britain’s Got Talent semi-final. While she loved the live show overall, she expressed disappointment with her seating position as she found it difficult to see Amanda and fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and KSI.
“It was absolutely amazing,” she began, before revealing what dampened the experience. “I was a bit gutted about where I was sitting, but other than that the atmosphere made it brilliant, so it was fine.
“I was up in the circle but I couldn’t see you judges very well unless we stood up, which is what I was a bit gutted about,” she added.
Responding to the caller’s complaint, Amanda said: “Oh I’m sad that you didn’t see us.”
Sue went on to say that her “highlight” of her night was witnessing Rafferty Coope triumph in the latest semi-final – and even securing a selfie with him afterwards.
“What a lovely family and what a really joyful boy,” Amanda replied. “When I got home I watched it back and I just can’t believe how exuberant he is, he’s like a bouncy puppy.” Later in the chat, the judge apologised to Sue for her disappointment over the seating arrangements, though the caller was quick to insist there were no hard feelings.
“It can’t be helped as it’s randomly selected but it just would’ve been nicer to be a bit closer to the judges, but other than that yeah it was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was brilliant,” she explained, before expressing hopes of snapping up tickets for the final.
Amanda then joked: “I promise you I normally offer tickets at this point but my manager will kill me, because we’ve got like 35 seats and that’s well over what I’m supposed to be giving out.
“I give so many to charity every year and for auctions and things like that and then I give them away to everyone on Heart as well, I keep getting told off!,” she added with a laugh.
Instead, the Heart Radio host generously offered Sue tickets to Blackpool in October for a fresh round of auditions for the 2027 series.
Last weekend, Rafferty and Sonny Green became the most recent acts to secure spots in the live final.
Tonight, the last eight semi-finalists – The Hawkstone Farmers Choir, Celestial, Baron and Vesper, Jake Banfield, James Miller, Juan Carlos, Mr. Cherry and SOS – will take to the stage hoping to join them, alongside Matty Juniosa, Anastasiia and Salsa, LMA, Fabian Fox, Liwei Yang and Ted Hill in the final line-up.
Britain’s Got Talent airs tonight at 7pm on ITV and ITVX
