Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has stepped up precautionary measures following a rise in Ebola virus cases in Africa. Acting on directions from the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, authorities have set up a screening facility at Vijayawada International Airport.
Airport officials said health screening is being conducted for all international passengers. On Tuesday morning, medical teams screened passengers arriving from Singapore.
Officials stated that anyone showing symptoms of the virus would be placed under quarantine as a preventive measure. The move is aimed at ensuring public safety and preventing any possible spread of the infection.
