Hyderabad: In a relief to parents and students, the Telangana government has reduced textbook prices for Classes 1 to 10 by up to 17% this academic year.
According to officials, the cost of a Class 1 set of three textbooks has been reduced from Rs 247 to Rs 209. Similarly, the price of a Class 10 textbook set has dropped from Rs 1,078 to Rs 900.
The revised-price textbooks will be made available in bookstores and markets across the state starting June 5.
The move is aimed at easing the financial burden on families ahead of the new academic session.
