Adilabad: Kamareddy police arrested six members of an inter-state gang for allegedly plotting to kidnap local businessman Busa Srinivas and extort money from him, police said on Thursday.
Superintendent of police M. Rajesh Chandra said police received information that the gang had gathered near Shivalayam at Krishajinvadi in Tadwai police station limits on Wednesday to plan the kidnapping.
Police said the accused tried to flee after seeing the police team, but were chased and arrested. A firearm and rubber bullets were seized from them.
The accused were identified as Nittu Narsingarao, 55, Sura Swamy, 27, Puli Prashanth Goud, 40, Suram Swamy, 40, all from Kamareddy, and Vaibhav Prakash Baradevar, 21, and Ajay Hanmantha Rao, 25, from Maharashtra.
