When Venkateswararao Duggempudi first arrived in Hyderabad from Rudrasamudram village in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district, he had no industry contacts, no backing and very little money. His first job paid him Rs 6,000 a month at a medical college. But even then, events fascinated him.

Over the next several years, he worked across multiple organisations, learning the mechanics of large public gatherings, stage management and audience behaviour. After the pandemic, he teamed up with friend Bhramma Reddy to launch YouWe Media, a company that would eventually become one of the more recognisable names in film promotions and entertainment events.

What set YouWe Media apart was its decision to look beyond the South. While most Tollywood promotional events stayed within Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh, the company took stars and film campaigns to cities like Patna and Bhopal, tapping into the growing popularity of Telugu cinema in North India.

“Pushpa 2 trailer launch in Patna and PEDDI event in Bhopal drew massive crowds, confirming what I had sensed early on: South stars are no longer regional icons,” says Venkateshwararao.

Today, with more than 2,000 events behind him and a 50 member team handling everything from artist coordination to crowd management, Venkateswararao continues to be a force to reckon with to organize high-profile, massive events.

From a small village to managing some of biggest film events, his journey has been built on instinct, persistence and a sharp understanding of audiences. As Managing Partner of YouWe Media, he is among those reshaping how South Indian cinema connects with audiences beyond its traditional markets.
