Collector Felicitates Organ Donor’s Family

Nellore:Prakasam district collector P. Rajababu felicitated the family of K. Lakshmaiah, 52, of Mukthinuthalapadu near Ongole, for donating his organs after his death and commended the KIMS Hospital medical team for carrying out the transplants.

Despite their grief, Lakshmaiah’s wife Nagadevi and family members consented to donate his liver, kidneys and eyes. One kidney was transplanted at KIMS Hospital, while the other was sent to Ramesh Hospitals, Guntur. The eyes were donated to LV Prasad Eye Institute.

The collector presented a Jeevandan certificate to the family and described organ donation as a noble act that gives new life to others. He also directed officials to provide employment to Nagadevi as a sanitation worker in Ongole Municipal Corporation.

KIMS Hospital refunded Rs 70,000 spent on treatment, assured a job to Lakshmaiah’s son after completion of his ITI course and announced an additional financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh. The Collector also felicitated the hospital’s medical team.
