Kylie has confirmed a major tour for her 40th career anniversary as she recently opened up on her terrifying secret health battle in a Netflix docuseries.

Kylie Minogue fans are in for an absolute treat as the iconic singer teased she’ll be heading out for a huge tour to celebrate her 40th career anniversary. In a recent interview with the Sunday Times’ Style magazine, the Australian singing legend was quizzed on whether she’d be touring in celebration.

“I’m probably not meant to say this, but yes I am,” the 57-year-old pop sensation said. In another interview with Rolling Stone, she was further questioned on when the tour might actually happen.

“I mean, it might be 2027-2028, because ‘Locomotion’ was 1987 in Australia. And like, the very, very end of ’88 was ‘Lucky’ kind of everywhere. So 2027-2028.” Kylie said.

The good news comes after the release of an intimate Netflix docuseries on her life, during which Kylie spoke candidly on a number of personal topics, including IVF and her health struggles.

She first publicly battled cancer in 2005, during which she had to undergo a lumpectomy – the removal of breast tissue – before starting chemotherapy.

Kylie was given the all-clear before sadly finding out the cancer had returned years later in 2021. Speaking on why she kept the diagnosis private this time around, she shared: “I was able to keep it to myself and go through that year.

“I didn’t feel obliged to tell the world, and actually, I just couldn’t at the time, as I was a shell of a person. I didn’t want to leave the house again at one point. Thankfully, I got through it again, and all is well.”

An emotional Kylie noted how she had struggled “to find the right time” to announce her second diagnosis, especially during the success of her Grammy-winning 2023 single Padam Padam.

“Padam Padam opened so many doors for me, but on the inside, I knew that cancer wasn’t just a blip in my life. And I really just wanted to say what happened so I can let go of it,” she explained.

“I would sit through interviews and every opportunity I had, I thought ‘now’s the time’, but I kept it to myself.”

Kylie was diagnosed after a routine check-up and has stressed it was her choice to share her experience in the hopes there is “someone out there who will benefit from a gentle reminder to do their check-ups”.

Opening up on how the initial diagnosis in 2005 affected her plans to start a family, she told Netflix how chemotherapy was postponed in an effort to undergo numerous rounds of IVF.

“I was 36 when I got my diagnosis so already it’s – you need to be thinking about children. So I did try, I even postponed my chemotherapy to try, which was quite scary at the time because you just want it out, gone.”

She added: “If it had happened [having a baby] it would have been just shy of a miracle. But it didn’t work out that way.”
