Was Para-Athlete, Chirag Tyagi Going To Meet His GF Before His Death? Foul Play Suspected

The world of sports is in shock! A while ago, para-athlete, Chirag Tyagi was found dead in Ghaziabad, just a few days after being qualified for the upcoming Para Asian Games. The heartbreaking incident has left his entire family, friends and close ones in shock. Some reports also claim that Chirag was about to meet his mystery girlfriend the day he passed away. Did Chirag Tyagi die due to a bullet wound?

If reports are to be believed, Chirag Tyagi was found dead in the Sai Upvan area of Ghaziabad on May 30, 2026. As per India Today, there was a major wound on his back, suggesting that it might be the reason behind his death. The injury instantly raised questions towards foul play, leading to an official investigation. Well, authorities claim that the wound on Chirag’s back might be caused by a bullet or a sharp object. However, the exact cause of his death has not been revealed.

If reports are to be believed, the police were informed about Chirag Tyagi’s body at around 3pm on May 30, 2026. Later, when they saw the CCTV footage, they found one suspect, who is reportedly already been taken into custody for questioning. Apart from this, Chirag’s family, coach and alleged mystery girlfriend were also questioned by ACP Upasana Pandey, as per The Bhaskar English. Currently, the authorities are waiting for forensic and post-mortem reports to move ahead in the case. 

Was Chirag Tyagi going to meet his girlfriend before his death?

A while ago, a report by State Mirror revealed that before his tragic death, Chirag Tyagi had plans of meeting his mystery girlfriend. Reportedly, his alleged girlfriend is from Indore; however, she had come to Ghaziabad to meet the now-deceased athlete. Reportedly, the two met on Instagram and eventually fell in love. It is worth mentioning that neither the author nor BollywoodShaadis can verify these claims.

Chirag Tyagi’s uncle recalls last conversation with the para-athlete

After Chirag Tyagi’s tragic and unexpected death, his uncle, Rajesh Tyagi came forward and recalled his last conversation with the now-deceased athlete. He stated that Chirag had called him at 8 in the morning to inform that he was coming home after qualifying for the Para Asian Games. However, in the afternoon, the police called them to inform the family about the unfortunate incident. As per Bhaskar English, Chirag Tyagi’s uncle shared:

“My nephew last called home at 8:10 a.m. He said he was on his way home. He first called his father, but when the call was not answered, he informed my younger brother. Whenever Chirag came home from Delhi, he would always call in advance and let us know he was coming. But today, after Chirag’s call, we received a call from the police informing us that his body had been found. Police are investigating it as a murder case. We do not suspect anyone.”

For those who do not know, Chirag Tyagi is one of the most promising Indian para-athlete. Reportedly, his father is a farmer. Coming to his career, Chirag had mostly participated in running events and over the years, he had represented Uttar Pradesh many times. According to Bhaskar English, at the Dubai 2026 Para Athletics Grand Prix, Chirag had won a bronze medal in the men’s 100m T36 event. Apart from this, just two days before his death, he won a silver medal in the 100 meters and a gold medal in the 400 meters in national competitions at National Para Athletics Championship, held in Bengaluru.
