Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha on Saturday directed officials to expedite approvals for industrial projects and adopt the principle of “Speed of Doing Business” to promote investment and industrial growth in the district.
Chairing a meeting of the District Industries and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) at the collectorate, the collector reviewed industrial approvals, incentive claims and the implementation of industrial development schemes.
Dr Lakshmisha said the state government was making sustained efforts to attract investments and promote industrialisation, and urged all departments to ensure timely clearances for proposed projects.
He noted that industrial growth was a key component of the government’s vision for economic development and highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen industrial infrastructure in the district.
The collector said foundation stones had already been laid for flatted factory complexes and MSME parks in all Assembly constituencies of the district. He added that steps were being taken to complete the projects at the earliest and make them available to entrepreneurs, generating employment and supporting local enterprise.
Directing officials to dispose of applications received through the Single Desk Portal without delay, he said investors should not face procedural hurdles in obtaining statutory approvals.
The DIEPC approved 26 industrial incentive claims amounting to `3.48 crore under various industrial promotion policies.
Describing Andhra Pradesh and NTR district as favourable destinations for industrial investment, Dr Lakshmisha said the administration was working towards the government’s “One Family – One Entrepreneur” initiative and encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to utilise available opportunities.
The committee also reviewed the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. The collector instructed officials to expedite scrutiny of applications and facilitate the establishment of eligible units.
District industries officer M. Madhu, APIIC zonal manager Babji, representatives of industry associations, bankers and officials from various departments attended the meeting.
