Mackenzie Shirilla ‘Mocks’ Dead BF, Dominic In Jail Phone Call With Friend, Makes Fun Of His Music

Mackenzie Shirilla’s name has gone viral after Netflix’s documentary, The Crash. The documentary tries to give insight into how two young boys were killed in a car crash while 17-year-old Mackenzie was charged with their murder. She is currently serving jail term of 15 years in prison while her parents are trying their best to prove her innocence. 

However, Mackenzie’s behaviour inside the prison highlights how she had no remorse for what happened. Earlier, the car crash was being considered a fateful accident, but the way things panned out, the court found Mackenzie guilty of the crime, while she kept saying she had no memory of the incident. 

Mackenzie brought up her dead boyfriend in a new phone call from jail

A report by TMZ revealed the details of the phone call between Mackenzie Shirilla and her friends while the former is still serving a jail term. In the video call, as per the report, Mackenzie brought up her boyfriend, Dominic Russo and his friend, Davion Flanagan, but not in a nice way. In fact, it seemed like she was mocking the two. In the obtained audio, Mackenzie was speaking to her friends, Rosie Graham and Faith. 

During it, she revealed that she has been paying for a music streaming service behind bars. She claimed that the service is terrible and supports untalented underground artists. She later described them as ‘Davions and Doms of the world.’ The remark shows that she wasn’t referring to her dead boyfriend in a respectful way. However, she later stated that she would prefer listening to Davion and Dom’s music to the trash artists. It clearly shows that she was mocking Dom’s musical abilities and not praising them.

Further on the call, Mackenzi gave one of her friends relationship advice and then asked them to log in to her social media handle and unfollow some people when they go to her mother’s place. The ladies laughed at the thought that people would wonder if she was out of jail. Mackenzie’s phone portrays a picture of how unaffected she is with the fact that two people died in the crash while she was in the driver’s seat. 

Mackenzie was also busted with a sexually explicit phone call while in prison

While serving her jail term, Mackenzie has violated a number of rules, including altering prison clothes, possessing contraband, and engaging in sexual activities. Officials revealed that in January 2025, they caught Mackenzie using a prescription medication that wasn’t hers and a photo of her containing drug use. In her defence, Mackenzie stated that the photo didn’t have drug use in it, and the pills were prenatal vitamins she got from someone else

Not only this, but Mackenzie also got engaged in a sexually explicit video call. The authorities revealed that she was found showing her breasts to a visitor. However, Mackenzie admitted to this charge. Another officer claimed that in August 2025, another jail inmate was seen grabbing Mackenzie’s butt, which was a consensual sexual conduct which violates jail rules. However,  Mackenzie denied the same.

After investigations, detectives found out that the crash that was looking like a tragic accident was actually a well-calculated crime. While Mackenzie’s family continue to call her innocent, Dominic’s mother revealed hearing strange threats from the 17-year-old guilty.
