After the conclusion of IPL 2026, the theatres are ready with a fresh lineup of movies that the audience is anticipating, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai being one of them, releasing this week. Directed by David Dhawan, the film starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, has already generated significant curiosity among the people. However, before it’s official release, the film underwent a few changes suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

As per Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC’s Examining Committee (EC) asked the makers of Varun Dhawan’s starrer to replace an inappropriate word at four places. A questionable hand gesture was also asked to be replaced.

Meanwhile, in one of the scenes, the name of a condom brand was visible and has been asked to be blurred. A word referring to a flavour was also asked to be muted. A six-second scene featuring the names of cricketers Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes has been edited. Additionally, a scene in which the actors’ undergarments were visible has been modified; the makers have zoomed in on the actors’ faces and upper bodies.

More about David Dhawan’s upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai:

Directed by David Dhawan, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai stars Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur, and Maniesh Paul in a romantic comedy entertainer. The film also marks the first time this ensemble cast will be seen together on screen, leaving the audience in excitement.

According to a report from News18, Hain Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is scheduled to release in theatres
on June 5. Initially scheduled to hit theatres on June 5, the film’s release date went through multiple changes. It was first pushed to June 12 after Yash announced Toxic for a June 4 release to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2. Later, the makers surprised fans by preponing the release to May 22, weeks ahead of its original date.

However, on April 29, Varun Dhawan dropped a new poster confirming that Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai would now release
on June 5 after all. The reshuffle came after Yash shared a detailed note on social media announcing that Toxic would no longer arrive on June 4, prompting the team behind the Varun Dhawan starrer to revert to its initial release plan.
